November Fundraiser:  PIE SALE

October 31, 2016

To Parents and Friends of Cascade Brook School students,

This year in the library we will read the book Enemy Pie by Derek Munson to the third grade. The book describes a boy’s struggle with friendship and his father’s helpful and very ingenious solution to his problem. The father bakes a pie to bring his son and his “enemy” together. We also spend time discussing the themes of conflict resolution, friendship, and the importance of communication with the children.

For many years now, we have followed this reading project with a Pie and Bread Sale as a fundraiser. All proceeds from the sale support enrichment programs for all our students.

This year our Pie Sale is Tuesday, November 22nd from 8:30-4:00 p.m.

We invite you to take part in this project by donating a pie (or pies) or a loaf (or loaves) of bread to our sale. Perhaps this could be an activity your family could do together, as the children will remember the lessons from the story as they bake for the sale. We also sell homemade jams and jellies, if you have some you would like to donate.

All donations can be dropped off at the CBS library between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22th. Prices range from $4 to $15. Thank you for joining us in making our Annual Pie Sale a success!

Please return the bottom of this letter to your child’s homeroom teacher by Thursday, November 10th.

Sincerely yours,

Martina Arnold Amy Graham
